Synopsis | Oil exploding in the well 542 on June 8, 1957. The oil must be contained. Soviet engineers have come to give a hand. There is a risk of explosion due to the constant large amount of gas. For this reason, the firemen constantly keep the well under water from the pumps. There are puddles of accumulated oil everywhere. The work is both difficult and dangerous. The steel armour must be brought closer to the mouth of the well, fire cracking. Help is coming from all four directions. People working the ground to prevent fire. There are cases of asphyxiation. The ambulance taking the injured to the hospital. (174. 60m). Giving the news of the fire by phone. Great help is provided by the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia. The remains of the well where the fire broke out are pulled with a tractor. Foreman Qemal Mahmuti and Brigadier Sali Alushi check the situation. The special brigade prepares the explosives in the afternoon of August 6. The vice colonel Mendi Backa sets the dynamo in motion and the fire goes out. The joy of workers hugging each other.
