Synopsis | Beginning with the image of an eagle flying over our snowy mountains. Magnificent sceneries. The city of Korce; the monument of the unknown soldier, showing aspects of the life of the city, prison’ image, the place where the martyrs were killed. View from the city of Gjirokastra. Berat, the house where the first Albanian government members met. North Albania scenery, mountains and pine trees. Shkodra Castle and life in the city. The city of Durres. Vlora and its citrus coast. Displaying Saranda, the ancient city of Butrint, Albanian map with castles. The city of Skanderbeg, Kruja. Showing the first governors of Albanian territory, from Ali Pasha Tepelena until the fascist occupation. Tirana’s prison and Porto-Romano. Count Ciano in Kucove and the landing of the fascists. The partisans war; the red army and its tanks across the Balkans. The liberation of Bucharest, Sofia, and Belgrade. The liberation of Albania, the establishment of the first democratic government; Enver Hoxha giving a public speech. Images of the destroyed Tirana. The burnt cities, Peza, Permet, Leskoviku, Borova, and Vithkuq. Carrying the remains of the martyrs, in Korce. Changing the farmer’s life. Tractors are coming from foreign countries. Unloading agricultural materials from the steamer. New tractors in our meadows. Agricultural school of Kavaje. Draining the swamps. Zoo-technical centre, shepherds, rural hospitals. Tirana Hospital, doctor Shiroka, maternity hospital, Greek provinces and children of Greek Democrats. Greek elders and children crossing the Albanian-Greek frontier. Border guards. Enver Hoxha addresses the People’s Assembly. Railway volunteers parading with picks and shovels in their hands. Comrades Enver Hoxha, Spiro Koleka, and Gogo Nushi are in the stands on the occasion of the inauguration of the beginning of the works. The sugar factory in Maliq is being built. “Stalin” textile factory in Tirana is being built. Technical Institute classroom, factory girls. View from the city of Kucova and its distinguished workers. The tar sands of Selenice. The former palace of King Zogu in Tirana, gathering of the most reputable workers. Comrade Enver talks to the Stakanovists. Showing images of new Tirana, the site where heroes were killed. Comrade Nexhmije Hoxha addresses the People’s Assembly. Women’s organization, women dressing in national costumes. Society of cultural connection with Soviet Union, League of Writers, People’s Theatre, Artistic Lyceum, young painters, etc. Displaying images of the Artistic High School and its classrooms. Following with images of the Pedagogical Institute and the United School. A parade takes place in Tirana. The Soviet Union delegation arrival. Albanians dancing dressed in national costumes of different regions. The parade begins. The commander of the parade, Comrade Beqir Balluku, briefing Enver Hoxha. Comrades Enver Hoxha, Mehmet Shehu, Hysni Kapo, Myslym Peza, Beqir Balluku and Soviet Union Minister Cuvakin, are standing in the tribune. Partisans starts parading , then the officers of the general staff, the garrison, the cadets, the navy, the motorized vehicles, and finally ordinary people march. The film ends with the national choir singing a patriotic song. Albanian eagle flying and three female soldiers watching the big-footed bird with binoculars while mounting on horses.
