Title | The Fountain of Bakhchysaray |
Synopsis | On April 29, the Albanian Philharmonic put on the stage the Fountain of Bakhchysaray ballet at the People’s Theatre. The president of Arts and Culture, comrade Foto Stamo, addressing the public on this occasion . Content of the oeuvre: The birthday of Tsar’s daughter Mary is being celebrated at Tsar’s palace. The Tartars enter in the palace and kill Mary’s fiancé amid the rejoicing. Mary’s is being kidnapped and sent to Hami Direj’s harem. Direj’s girlfriend, Zarena, kills Mary out of jealousy . Direj, deeply saddened by this occurrence, condemns Zarena, throwing her out of the castle. Tha ballet ends with Direj ordering the Tartars to dance a war dance so to relieve the boredom. In this ballet Iqbale Marina plays the role of Mary; Melloni Terka plays the role of Zarene and Panajot Kanaci plays the role of Direjt. The spectators applauding the young ballet artists at the end of the performance. The Fountain of Bakhchysaray ballet is taken from Pushkin’s poem. Music conductor : Mustafa Krantja. Ballet master E.
