| Synopsis | The ear of wheat rejoices at the new season’s bread, rejoices aver the tireless work of adults and children, who leave no ear of wheat in the plot entrusted to them. But there is a greedy sparrow that picks it up with its strong beak and files off to eat it undisturbed somewhere far away from people. The ear of wheat begs the sparrow to take it to see the children for the last time and the sparrow takes it to the house of a spoilt and quarrelsome little girl who, whenever she does not eat her bread, throws it out of the window secretly so that her grandmother does not see her. How the ear of wheat is grieved to see such a thing! No, the kindergarten children and they are the majority. The ear of wheat is now amongst the children. It dances happily because it knows that the children, with rare exceptions, love it very much. |
