| Synopsis | Centuries-old oaks covering the ancient city. Geologists setting up the tents. A high wall, 2 meters near Konispoli at Cuka. The city is canalized and has stairs. Even the valley of Mati was used for archaeological discoveries before water was poured. Interesting objects such as knives, Illyrian axes are found. At the beginning, there are some drawn pictures that show the processing of minerals by the Illyrians. Coins, weapons, helmets, shields and armour of the Illyrians. Ornament of Illyrian women. A house was discovered at one of the rich neighbourhoods of the city, it is thought to have belonged to a high-ranking government official. The rooms of this house were decorated with marble tiles and colourful mosaics. The motifs of the mosaics are taken from popular myths. The Beauty of the sea, Aeneid. The city has a sewage system, the house has a heating system, bathroom, etc. Sculptures were discovered: a child’s head, the body of Apollo, Demosthenes, the bust of a philosopher, the statue of Athena. Outside the city walls are the tombs. Ornaments that were placed on the dead were found in the graves. Clay vessels were found in some graves, which were used to put the ashes of the dead. All these elements show the ancient culture of our people. Apollonia, its view from far and near. University geological expedition assisted by Soviet Union archaeologist.
