Title Butrint’s Mysteries
Synopsis Docufiction film dedicated to the archaeologist Ugolini. The story of the discovery of the city narrated by the archaeologist (Ndriçim Xhepa) who talks about the history of the city to a group of tourists. Ugolini, who is a main character of the film, often intervenes in this action. Luigi Ugolini is played by Artur Gorishti, while the archaeologist is played by Ndriçim Xhepa. The group of tourists consists of Guljejm Radoja, Raimonda Bulku and Fatos Sela. The film aims to evoke one of the biggest discovery events in Albania. Butrint has been constantly rumored for theft, robbery or multiple interpretations. Laço’s script itself aims to create a fair understanding of the events of that time, through these multiple characters. The merit of the filmmakers is that they have moved away from the mythicization of the character Ugolini and have tried to approach a character who has done so much for the ancient city.
