The radical changes obliged the artists and the society as a whole to start searching for their identity in an unknown artistic, economic, social and mental terrain. Although placed before a wave of emigration, many artists refused to leave the country. Fatmir Ko\u00e7i asks artists about their reasons for staying in, and about how liberation from the totalitarian dictatorship has affected their creative work.
