| Synopsis | Adaptation of the novel with the same title by Ismail Kadare. Two Italians, a general and a priest, set out on a trip to Albania to collect the remains of the Italian soldiers killed during the war. The general and the priest have been asked by a senior colonel’s wife, Beti, to identify his remains. They discover that the colonel had raped a young girl, and had been murdered by her mother, the old woman Nica. |
