| Title | Reburial Ceremony of Seven Albanians Who Died in a Plane Crash, 1974 |
| Description | On July 13, 1963, an airplane traveling from China to Tirana crashed near the city of Irkutsk in Siberia, Soviet Union, killing all 32 passengers and crew members on board. Most of them were Chinese engineers coming to Albania to provide expertise for industrial projects. The seven Albanians who lost their lives were: Felek Malile together with her two children, Miranda and Besnik Malile; the poet Drago Siliqi; Xhafer Bakllamaja with his wife Nadire Bakllamaja and their young son Agim Bakllamaja. In 1974, ten years after the victims had been buried in China, the remains of the seven Albanians were brought back to Albania to rest in their homeland. Workers and citizens of the capital paid their respects. The coffins of Drago Siliqi, Miranda Malile, and Felek Malile are visible. Reiz Malile and Xhafer Spahiu look at the coffins of the children. Hysni Kapo and Haki Toska pay their respects. Manush Myftiu also honors the deceased. Ramiz Alia and his family pay homage; Ramiz Alia embraces Reiz Malile, as both are relatives of the victims. Drita Siliqi is seen paying respects. The coffin of Xhafer Bakllamaja is visible. Writer Ismail Kadare pays homage.The remains are escorted to the cemetery. Hysni Kapo, Reiz Malile, and Ramiz Alia carry the coffins while participants bid their final farewell. A commemorative speech is delivered by Shefqet Musaraj. Vito Kapo is also visible. The burial takes place and wreaths are laid on the graves. Family members place flowers. Xhafer Spahiu and Reiz Malile lay wreaths. Xhafer Spahiu, Ramiz Alia, Hysni Kapo, Manush Myftiu, and Reiz Malile pay their final respects. In the end, Manush Myftiu and Ramiz Alia meet with the sons of Xhafer Bakllamaja. |
